Audience: health and social care professionals

This is a practical guide to help healthcare professionals and members of the multi-disciplinary team support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities to make their own decisions and be engaged with the decision-making process.

This toolkit offers step-by-step processes for how to involve children and young people in their own decision-making. This can be used hand-in-hand with the Me First model to ensure that communication within the decision-making process is clear and effective.

Created by the Council for Disabled Children with funding from the Department for Education.
