Audience: healthcare professionals, children and young people

The Golden Rules Symbols resource is a communication tool for children and young people who:

  • are non-verbal,
  • have speech and language difficulties, and/or
  • have additional support needs.

They can also be used to help communicate ideas and information about participation to very young children.

The resource comes in 3 downloadable parts:

  • Golden rules for participation
  • Symbol cards
  • Conversation cards

This resource was created by the team at Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland through working with Widgit Software, professionals from Glasgow City Council, and children and young people.
