Three Houses Communication Technique
4 likesAudience – healthcare professionals
The Three Houses communication technique helps a child or family think about and discuss worries, strengths, hopes and dreams. It is usually most effective with children over the age of 7. You can use it with individuals or with a group.
Whilst this technique has been used by Social Workers in a child protection setting, it can be readily adapted for working with children and families in a health setting and those facing challenging medical issues or procedures.
The model was developed in New Zealand by Nicki Weld and Maggie Greening.
